A House to save. A Serra to protect. A community to mobilize.
The Guarda à Casa! operation was born to save the Casa do Guarda, enhance the Mata, the Serra, and the Canhão Cársico of Ota, and mobilize a community of Monteiros around this heritage.

The heart of the operation. The Casa do Guarda is fragile and needs urgent intervention to avoid being lost. Recovering it means returning to the community a place of memory, gathering, and future.
What we will recover
From urgency to reactivation of the Casa do Guarda
The priority is to save the Casa do Guarda: halt the degradation, ensure its safety, and prepare for a phased recovery. Afterwards, we want to bring it back to life as a space for memory, gathering, and support for the enhancement of the Mata, the Serra, and the Canhão Cársico of Ota.
