The operation Guarda à Casa!
A House to save. A Serra to protect. A community to mobilize.
The operation Guarda à Casa! was born to save the Casa do Guarda, enhance the Mata, the Serra, and the Canhão Cársico of Ota, and mobilize a community of Monteiros around this heritage.
Casa do Guarda
The heart of the operation. The Casa do Guarda is fragile and needs urgent intervention to avoid being lost. Recovering it means returning to the community a place of memory, gathering, and future.
What we want to do
From urgency to reactivation of the Casa do Guarda
The priority is to save the Casa do Guarda: halt degradation, ensure its safety, and prepare a phased recovery. Afterwards, we want to bring it back to life as a space for memory, gathering, and support for the enhancement of the Mata, the Serra, and the Canhão Cársico of Ota.
- Stabilization and structural recovery of the Casa do Guarda
- Hostel, exhibition space, and support
- Support for trails, paths, and Canhão Cársico
- Meeting place for the community and the Monteiros da Ota
The goal is to save the Casa do Guarda
Every contribution counts: donations, materials, services, equipment, or labor help us halt the degradation of the Casa do Guarda and return this place to the community.
